All About Me

One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is digital scrapbooking. I have a favorite site that I always go to to get ideas and inspiration for pages. They have started up a new series of "All About Me" pages and the idea is that we always make pages about our kiddos and we are hardly ever on the pages. So the focus is to do some pages on you, because years down the road they will be so fun to look at and remember what you were like too. Well, I just thought I would post the one I made about a month ago about me. You can click on it to make it bigger if you want to read the writing on it. Enjoy!

Jenny Jumperoo

Someone at Ben's work gave us this jumper and I decided to let Elsie try it out yesterday. I know it will take a few times for her to figure out what to do in it. Her favorite thing about it yesterday was to chew and suck on it. I put her hair up in a little bow up front instead of to the side like usual and I thought it was really cute. She still had all of her hair sticking up in the back, so that was kinda funny. It looks like she is jumping and really laughing in these pictures, but she really just has her feet up in the air and is having herself a good 'ole time!

We Love Sundays!

Hey guys! We had a great morning at church this morning. It was the first time I have made it through Sunday school without being summoned by the nursery since Elsie was born. The church is focusing on "loving loud" in the month of february so we were challenged to be a humble and compassionate servant. We were also invited to go out to eat with some people from the sunday school class we went to and it was nice to get out and meet/get to know some people our age here (or really any age for that matter!) :) Here are a couple cute pics of the kiddos from this morning. Elsie wore some leg warmers that everyone thought were adorably cute!

Joy and Melt-downs

I love this little girl! She is such a joy to be around! I love my little guy too. He is in the process of teaching me patience and self-control like I have never know before! :) His two year old personality/independence has hit hard recently. Today we went to Wal-Mart and started off in the produce section at the front of the store. I got a baggie to put some green apples in and a mini-meltdown occurred. I asked him if he wanted a baggie of his own and proceeded to tear another one off and I gave it to him. I then started to open the original baggie and I put the apples in and another mini-meltdown occurred. I asked him what was wrong and he told me he didn't want a baggie. ok, so I took the baggie back. :) Moving on, we headed over to the banana display and I picked up a banana and laid it down on top of the green apples in our cart. Major meltdown occurs. Apparently that is not where the banana was supposed to go. I move the banana to the other side of the cart and the major meltdown continues. Very loud whining and crying. After a heart-to-heart talk with him and the promise of a spanking if this behavior continues (and maybe the promise of a marshmallow when we got in the car) :) we continued on and had a very pleasant shopping experience in wal-mart.

Just a Few Pictures of Elsie From Today

Here is our sweet little Elsie today at 3.5 months old. She smiles and laughs so much! She is such a little blessing!

Loosing Teeth and Getting Snow and Friends in GA

We have had an eventful past two weeks! At the beginning of February, Hatcher had a dentist appointment in Huntsville and the x-rays showed that it would be best to have his front tooth (the chipped one) taken out. So we scheduled an appointment for 10 days later to come back and have the procedure done. We came back to Georgia for a few days and Elsie helped me make some cookies. She sits in her bumbo seat for just a few minutes at a time, but it is amazing what I can get done in those few minutes! She did like watching the mixer go 'round and 'round!
We came back to Huntsville for the dentist visit and we got lots of snow! It left about as fast as it came, but Hatcher did get to play in it for a little bit. Here is the last picture of Hatcher with both of his front teeth! The next day was the dentist visit and it was quite eventful. Hatcher was not allowed to drink milk or eat anything after 8a.m. so I tried my hardest to distract him from food and milk (which he drinks all day long like it is going out of style!) In the process I couldn't sneak much of a lunch in either. Hatcher did great with the medicine and he was really relaxed during the entire procedure. I on the other hand was starving (since it was 1:30 in the afternoon) and almost passed out as I was watching the dentist use the shot and then grab the pliers. I asked my mom (who was helping me out with Elsie there) to come stay with Hatcher and I sat out in the hall. The dentist left Hatcher in the middle of the procedure to bring me a granola bar and a mountain dew! Oh well, how was I supposed to get a decent lunch when I couldn't eat in front of him?!?! :) haha, it does make for a funny story though! So Hatcher has a new and I must say very cute little smile! Here is a picture of him with his missing front tooth. He did really well after the procedure too. He just lounged in the den at my parent's house and watched Boz over and over and over. We got him some new Boz dvds but he just wanted to watch the Christmas Boz dvd over and over and over! Elsie got to have some good times with papa while we were there too! Hatcher was doing well so we headed home this past Thursday. On our way home, Ben called me to ask if our friends Steven, Elizabeth, and Anna could come visit. I was super excited about it and they came on Thursday and stayed through Sunday. Here is Elizabeth with all the kiddos and notice the snow out the window! We had a blast!! We played out in the snow for a while during Elsie's nap. We got around 4 inches of snow and Ben decided to break out the snowboards!! Steven was ready with Ben's ski goggles on. Hatcher enjoyed clapping the snow with his hands to make it fly out of his hands and he liked to eat it! It was lots of fun!! Then on Saturday we all went to the Georgia Aquarium. Ben and I have season passes so if you ever want to go, we would love to go with you!! (and you can stay with us anytime if you want!!) We had a great time seeing the fish and penguins and whales and sharks. They have this cool little kiddie area and we let Hatcher climb through a toddler tube that you can only see the entrance and the exit. We noticed that it was taking him a really really long time to get through the tube. Other kids were going in and coming out, but still no sign of Hatcher. We would call in the tube to him and he would talk to us, but we couldn't get him to come out. Finally, he decided to mosey on out and then we understood why it was taking him so long...he came out with a dirty diaper. He doesn't like to be changed, so I think he was just hanging out in there (and stinking it up!). Ben was waiting for him to come out and he said when Hatcher was getting close that he could smell him coming! oh boy! After going to the aquarium, we ate supper at Chipotle which is one of Ben's favorites and then we went to Krispy Kreme which is totally my favorite!! They were making doughnuts while we were there and Hatcher loved watching them! After getting a dozen assorted doughnuts we headed home to get the kiddos in bed. The Dunnes stopped at Dunkin Doughnuts on their way back to our house, so we had a great assortment of doughnuts to eat before we all headed to church on Sunday morning! It was lots of fun!
