Elsie is 9 months and Hatcher doesn't need stitches!

Elsie is now 9 months old and so much fun! Last night Ben and Hatcher left for Hatcher's first "man" trip with Ben's side of the family, so it was just us girls here last night. I really enjoyed the slow pace of the night and just watching Elsie sit, crawl, cruise, and play without being hit, shoved, punched, pushed, or the toy taken away from her. :) I had never noticed before how smart she is! She played in the bathtub for at least 15 minutes with some toys that "nest" inside each other and she did really well putting one inside the other and trying out all different variations of nesting! I was amazed as I watched her, probably because she always takes a bath with Hatcher and he is always interrupting her thought process. But it was really cool to watch!
As I said earlier, Hatcher and Ben left last night after Ben got off of work. He promised to take good care of my little man. He has never been away from me for this long, but I'm sure he'll do fine! They have only been gone for half a day and Ben called me this morning and said that Hatcher was fine and he did not need stitches...what?!?! They already had to get two opinions on whether or not Hatcher needed stitches on his chin!! oh my! Of all the things they are doing that could be potentially dangerous (like fishing, etc.) Hatcher gets hurt in Wal-Mart. Poor little guy just tripped and fell and busted his chin open. :( Otherwise they are having fun though! Birthday Fun!

I had a great 31st birthday yesterday. Ben came home and made me strawberry cupcakes (along with a little help from the kiddos!) He was so funny...he put on my awesome Auburn apron and went to work! I mean, really, just look at that perfect bow he tied behind his back! We ate a great spaghetti supper (my favorite meal) and really enjoyed the cupcakes...they were so tasty! Then we played with the kids for a while before bedtime and I snapped a few really cute ones of ben and h and e. Look at sweet little Elsie's teeth! Then today ben came home for lunch and I got a really cute one of both of them sitting in his lap when he first came in the door. They are always so excited to see daddy! Just a little while ago I took the kiddos upstairs for naptime and Hatcher had pulled out his toboggan and put it on. I took a picture of him and thought it would be fun to compare to one that was taken in feb. 2009, when he was 13 months old. It is fun to see the similarities and differences in my handsome little guy! thanks for stopping by!

Celebrating...

Hatcher just turned 2 and a half years old on Sunday. Since he was born 2 days after Christmas, we always have a half birthday party for him since his birthday gets a little overshadowed by Christmas festivities. Elsie also turned 8 months old on Saturday, so we celebrated her little birthday too. Here are two of the pages I made for this celebration. There will be another that will show him opening his presents and playing with his remote control car that he got and loves! Very fun day! We haven't been up to much else. We go swimming alot in our neighborhood pool which is SO awesome! Ben and I enjoy taking the kids there in the evenings so much. Hatcher does really well jumping in, going under water, and "swimming" to us. Elsie just likes to float around, splash a little bit, and watch other people. We have been getting to know other people in our neighborhood when we go down there, so that is a definite plus too. Thanks for stopping by!

Summer Colds

Well, all 4 of us are sick with colds right now. We were supposed to leave for a family trip to Kentucky on Thursday but we were not able to due to the sickness. :( oh well, that's how it goes sometimes I guess. Ben still has vacation, so we are all just having some nice family time around the house and our neighborhood pool. Hatcher just finished up two weeks of swimming lessons and he did great! Mr. Potato Head's Bottom

It's a good day when all of your mr. potato heads are dressed and ready to go. You know how you can store pieces inside of mr. potato head by opening the flap on his back? Well, Hatcher likes to pull that piece off of mr. potato head. One day I was putting one back on and he said, "He need his bom-mom (bottom) on?" Me-"Yes sweetheart I am putting his bottom back on." Hatcher-"so his poo-poo not fall out." Me-"Yes sweetheart, so his poo-poo won't fall out." :)
