Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! We had a great time with both sides of our family for Thanksgiving! Elsie and Hatcher traveled very well to Chattanooga and Birmingham and everyone loved seeing them. Here is a sweet picture of Elsie and my Dad at my grandparents house in Chattanooga. We had a fabulous meal there in Chattanooga prepared by the most wonderful cook...my Mom! She did a great job making tons of snacky foods as well as the amazing big meal and apple dumplings for dessert! She did take a few minutes to play with all 4 of her grandkids in the middle of it all too! Here she is with Hatcher. Ben greatly enjoyed the food in Chattanooga as you can see from this next picture and he enjoyed all of the food that his mom cooked for us in Birmingham. She did a great job cooking some of Grandmother's specialties! Before we left Chattanooga we wanted to try to get a picture with all 4 of the grandkids, so here is our attempt to get a decent picture. I decided to show you the best and the worst, because it is just funny to see all the different faces. Hatcher had just woken up from his nap (with the most amazing bedhead I've ever seen. It took lots of water and brushing to try to get it to semi-lay down again!) and he was not in a picture taking mood! :) Here is the worst...and here is the best we could get. Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving! We are all so blessed by the Lord!

4 weeks old

we have almost been a family of four for a month now and we are doing great! I am adjusting/ getting used to being sleep deprived, hatcher is getting used to the phrase "you'll have to wait until I'm done feeding Elsie", and Ben has Hatcher's bath/bedtime routine down since I'm usually busy with Elsie to take part in the whole thing (or any of it some nights). Here are a few pictures from the past two weeks. I realized I need to take more pictures when I was looking for pictures to put up for this new post! I'm sure the Thanksgiving holidays will give us lots of opportunities for pictures! Here is Elsie with her strong neck muscles! Here is Hatcher admiring Elsie (or trying to figure out where he is going to poke her next!) Ben has done a great job helping me out with both of the little ones. Here he is teaching Hatcher the fine art of watching Saturday afternoon footbball on the couch with his feet propped up! and here he is with his sweet daughter. the other day hatcher and I decided to try a new cookie recipe. hatcher picked out the cookie cutters which are cars, trucks, dinosaurs, airplanes, puppies, and a duck and he helped me cut them out. very fun idea, but he did NOT like the waiting on them to cook part. We are still working on patience! :) I would give you the recipe but they turned out to be very hard cookies instead of soft and chewy like I was hoping for. oh well! have a happy thanksgiving and remember all that the Lord has blessed you with! He is so good!!
