Thumb-Sucker?

Elsie has always shown a little interest in her thumb and fingers by putting them in her mouth, chewing on them, and the occasional suck on a few of her fingers. But today she took it another step by getting just her thumb in her mouth and really sucking on it. I must say it was pretty cute! We have tried many different pacifiers with her and pretty much tried them everyday for the first 2.5 months but she showed no interest whatsoever. I don't know if she will be a thumb sucker or not, but here is a cute little picture of her in her Sunday dress trying to get that little thumb in her mouth.

Teeth, Hair, and Strawberries

While we were in Huntsville we went to the dentist to get Hatcher's chipped tooth looked at again. They did an x-ray on it and decided that it would be best to remove the tooth so that it does not damage or discolor his permanent tooth. :( So we will be back in a couple of weeks to get his tooth taken out. i've always had hopes of being able to have his little tooth rebuilt so that we could see what his cute little baby teeth would look like, but as they said in the dentist's office, he will just look like a rough and tumble little boy with his missing tooth. oh well! Hatcher also got a haircut while we were in huntsville. It was really just a trim because Ben informed me that the reason the last 2 haircuts looked so goofy was because they were cutting so much hair off of the top of his head and then it would just stick up and look goofy. So I asked the lady to please not cut any off the top, but just trim up the back and around the ears. It turned out pretty good, and hopefully it won't take too many more months for the hair on the top of his head to grow back out! :) While my mom and I were out shopping we found some cute strawberry pajamas that remind me so much of my strawberry shortcake pajamas that I had when I was little, so we got them for Elsie. They had a cute little strawberry hat with them that we put on her for just a few minutes before Hatcher pulled it off. That was ok with me though because her cute head of hair looks so much cuter with a bow in it than covered up with a hat!

Hangin' Out with Nanie and Papa

Last weekend Ben lead a group of 9th grade boys for the dnow weekend at whitesburg, so the kiddos and I came up to stay with my parents for the weekend and then all week. Ben was planning on coming back to Huntsville to be with us this weekend, but the weather was iffy with sleet/freezing rain and he had lots of work to do, so we just came back to georgia to be with him. We did have a good week with nanie and papa. Nanie loves bathtime for hatcher and elsie. she did all the bathtimes all week long. Elsie got to take a bath in the kitchen sink and gave lots of smiles like this big one. She also started laughing while we were here and it is so fun to hear!!

Lunch with Mommy on the Kitchen Counter

Hatcher and I had a great lunch yesterday. I sat him up on the counter and we both ate peanut butter sandwiches and chatted. :) My sweet little boy loves his peanut butter! I would set my sandwich down to take a drink and he would pick it up really fast and take a bite...he thought it was hilarious!! I just love listening to his sweet laughter! Thanks for stopping by!

Snow, Ice, Pot Holders, and Leaves

We did get a little bit of snow here. It covered the ground and the roads for a few days. Ben ran out the morning it snowed and took this great picture for me. He noticed yesterday that the water coming out of the gutter drain was frozen and told me to take a cool picture of it. The sun was setting right behind it so it did turn out pretty cool!We did let Hatcher walk out in the snow and throw a few snowballs, but that was about all. It was so cold and he was already sick, so we just stayed inside most of the time. Hatcher has perfected the art of lounging around. Here he is just chillin' in the den with nerf darts all around him. The nerf gun is definitely a favorite pasttime of Hatcher and Ben! Hatcher has been using his imagination so much lately! He told me the other day that he was going to go and cook supper for daddy. I asked him what he was going to make and he told me "make daddy donuts!!" He loves to imitate everything we do, especially kitchen stuff. Here he is with a pot that he got out of the cabinet that he is holding with a hot pad in each hand! He came up and told me it was hot so I told him i was proud of him for using hot pads so he didn't get burned. :) what he comes up with is so fun! When we put the Christmas decorations away I pulled out some snowmen and set them up in the den. There were four of them and they just kinda looked like our family, so I told Hatcher that the big one was daddy, the next biggest was mommy, and the little one with the green hat was Hatcher, and the little one with the blue hat was Elsie. Hatcher loved this idea and remembered which one was which and he loves to knock them over and play with them! Here is Ben attacking Hatcher with the "daddy snowman". It is January, so we finally decided to rake our yard. :) or maybe I should say that I finally started it so Ben would have to finish it. :) haha! he does such a great job at work all day long that I hate for him to come home and have to work all night too! so I raked all the leaves into piles and then Ben started to move them to the street where the city will come by and pick them up. Ben's method of moving them to the street was by putting the leaves into a big box and then taking the box over to the street and dump them out. Hatcher had a great time playing with his daddy and the big box and all the leaves! Here is a picture of him in one of the leaf piles. And here is me and Elsie yesterday. This is what she did while I raked leaves...hung out and got an up-close view of all the raking action! We are also still playing alot of ping pong in the basement at night as we wait for little Elsie to get sleepy. Here is Hatcher playing under the ping pong table. He loves playing in the "base-peps" as he calls it. :) Well, I always like to end with some really cute pictures. Today they are of little miss elsie. This morning I put her in one of the outfits that I wore when I was little. She was almost too big for it. I actually had to take her diaper off to get it fastened! :) I guess I should have put her in this outfit about a month ago! oh well! She looked really cute and I love that my mom saved this outfit and gave it to me!

thanks for stopping by!!

Happy New Year!

happy new year everyone! It's hard to believe it is 2010! Well, we've been taking it easy around the weller home since the new year began. my mom (jenny's) was in town to help us ring in the new year. she kept hatcher while ben and I watched a movie downstairs (elsie hung out with us in our awesome moby wrap and slept through most of it!). just in case you were wondering what cool movie we would pick on this night of partial freedom...it was high school musical 3...haha...and it was a lot of fun to watch! :) we also got to ring in the new year with my mom's awesome homemade donuts...a definite wofford favorite! like most people, our new year has involved taking down Christmas decorations and when we started to take down our tree, we found all kinds of extra "decorations" in it. Mostly blocks and nerf darts. I just love to find little evidences of Hatcher everywhere!! We have really enjoyed getting all of the Christmas cards from our family and friends. We proudly display them on our fridge until we run out of magnets, so a few cards are not up (though all of the picture cards do make the fridge!) Here is a shot of our awesomely decorated fridge...On Saturday we decided to go to the mall. We ate lunch out and had a yummy malt milkshake that all three of us enjoyed. Then we let Hatcher ride the little choo-choo train. He didn't want to go alone, so Daddy got the honors of riding with him! Later that night we headed out to Lowes to get a few things and Hatcher got to ride the lawnmowers which is totally the most fun thing for him! He loves going to Lowes or Home Depot and he always asks, "ride lawn...mower?" Good times! Today we stayed in because Hatcher, Daddy, and I all have colds. Hatcher got my digital camera and decided to take a few shots around the house. In between the shots of the carpet and the tv, there are actually a few pretty good shots! Here are some... pretty artsy huh?I like the angles that he takes! We were pretty impressed with the lighting that he caught in that last one of the sunset! Then tonight Ben wanted to play ping pong. Elsie was awake so we were trying to decide what to do with her while we play. Most times I wear her in the Moby wrap if she is awake, but I suggested that Ben wear her this time. He said, "Wrap me up" so I put the Moby wrap on him and we stuck baby Elsie inside. I think she liked riding around on her daddy! it is cold in the basement where the ping pong table is, so we put a cute hat on her and grabbed our paddles. I must say that ben did pretty good playing with her on!! We've had a great 2010 so far!
