Today

today is such a gorgeous day! this morning I took the kiddos outside in the driveway and we had some playdoh fun! Hatcher loved using all the little gadgets in his playdoh set. Elsie wanted to eat it all so bad!! She did ok sitting there playing with a few toys, but she really started to get upset that she was not playing with what Hatcher had. She is so observant and wants to be a part of everything we do! She is sitting up pretty well now so she loves to just sit and watch Hatcher. Anytime she is sitting in my lap while I am eating she is always opening her mouth hoping that the fork is coming to her instead of to me! She is going to be a good eater! She just turned 5 months old and she cut her first tooth the next day! She is so much fun and Ben is really starting to play/rough-house with her a little more and he is loving that she is not so "fragile". :) Here she is trying to eat Ben's hair! This morning Hatcher was sitting up on the couch beside Elsie and I thought "oh how cute. I wonder if I could snap a picture of them together." Always high hopes, but usually not good results. This is what picture taking is like in our house with a rambunctious two year old. He sees the camera coming (even though I do my best to hide it) and he jumps over Elsie which she thinks is really funny, so she starts laughing. He continues to be rowdy and Elsie starts to not like all of the activity. Elsie is then done with all of the rough-housing around her and begins to cry so that I will save her, and then Hatcher sits up and smiles perfectly for the camera. haha. I'll end on a cute picture of her in her chair. This is how I get to take a shower, with her playing in the chair right beside the shower. She usually does pretty good in it! Enjoy this beautiful day that the Lord has made!

2 Cool :)

This awesome little guy is 2 years, 2 months, 2 weeks, and 2 days old today! (don't you just love the birthday counters that tell you this kind of information!) I just thought that was pretty cool and a good excuse to post a picture of the little guy from bath time tonight. Daddy made his hair into a mohawk! so fun! I just love that sweet little toothless grin!

Making It Through

We've been making it through the past 2 weeks with sick kiddos and I think we are finally all on the upswing! Just some runny noses and a terrible cough in little Elsie that is actually a lot better than it was. Needless to say, we haven't done much in the past 2 weeks. Ben's parents came up this weekend and it was good to see them and they loved seeing their grandkids. Here are just a couple of fun pictures...Hatcher is such a cool little dude! He is the sweetest little guy. Anytime you say anything about getting hurt like bumping your elbow he always says, "kiss it?" and then after we let him kiss our boo-boo he always asks, "feel better?" he really is sweet! last night he was shining a little light and he shined it in my eyes and I told him not to do that because it hurt mommy's eyes and he followed up with, "kiss it?" so I had to let him kiss both of my eyes, and yes, they did feel better! haha! little elsie has been a pitiful little sick one. it is so not fun to watch your little one feel so bad. :( but here is a fun picture of her after bathtime. This is what her hair looks like after it is dried with the towel...so fun!

"cakecups"

Here's the rest of the story from ben's birthday. Ben got home a little after 5 and walked into some rockin' versions of happy birthday. i had searched on itunes for happy birthday and picked out some i thought ben would think were awesome, like the big band version, and then some i thought would just be funny. they turned to be a hit and we deemed them as necessary for every birthday from here on out. :) here is ben and hatcher dancing to one of the versions! Elsie and I were enjoying the dancing show! I made ben some cupcakes or as hatcher called them last night, "cakecups" and hatcher could not wait to get one. every time we turned around he was over there taking one off of the table or sticking his finger in one. :) Ben decided he wanted to open presents first and I think Hatcher decided that he was the official "present opener". He did a great job opening them all for Ben. Here is Ben with some new socks...hahaha just what everyone wants to get as a present! He also got some chocolate candy that looks like rocks from Hatcher and I got him a subscription to Bible Study Magazine. We are both looking forward to getting the first issue in the mail! After all the presents were opened, Hatcher was still anxiously awaiting getting a cakecup, so we decided that he could go on and have one before we ate supper. he was so excited!! I arranged the cupcakes in the shape of a "28" and decorated them with a variety of fun sprinkles. I am really catching onto my mom's intense love for sprinkles...they are great! Hatcher helped daddy blow all his candles out and then it was time to eat! Here is Hatcher trying as hard as he can to get his cupcake while ben is trying to roll up his sleeves! so silly!! This is one happy boy! He finally got his cakecup! We did have some yummy dominos pizza for supper, i ordered ben's favorite toppings, and then we had some great family time just playing in the den. We also attempted to take a family photo with the self-timer. After 10 shots this was the best :) and everyone with children knows how that goes! anyway, we had a great time celebrating ben's birthday!!

Flashback to the 80s

This guy turned 28 today! Just thought I'd post a cute picture of ben as a toddler. Do you see any resemblance between him and hatcher?

Happy 28th Birthday Sweetheart!!

Today is Ben's big birthday and we started out the day with birthday breakfast for my main man! I made some biscuits and sausage for breakfast and stuck a couple candles in them for him to blow out. We sang happy birthday to daddy and then... Hatcher helped daddy blow his candles out. Such a big helper!! Elsie had fun watching all the festivities and hanging out with daddy. She had some big smiles for us too! She loves mornings and she was especially happy just to sit and watch us all eat this morning. Hatcher enjoyed his biscuits and honey and a tiny bit of sausage. Happy Birthday Ben!! We love you so much and are so thankful that you are such a good husband and daddy!!
