Hatcher says hey to everyone who reads this! He just had his first trip to the beach!
He did well on the long drive down there. He slept most of the time and only got really worked up twice, one time of which resulted in at least an hour long stop in Montgomery to calm, feed, burp, change and love on him some. Besides that, the trip went very smoothly. We borrowed my parent's car and we filled it up with baby stuff. It takes a lot to take a baby on a trip! Here is a picture from when we got back home, before we unloaded...Hatcher got totally spoiled by his granddaddy and grandmother. His granddaddy would walk and walk and walk with him until he fell asleep. Hatcher loved being a part of the action until he just passed out in his arms!
Our trip to the beach was sadly cut short when Ben's grandmother passed away on Saturday. We loved her so much and it is such a comfort to know that she knew the Lord and is in Heaven now. On the trip back, we stopped in Birmingham to spend the night before going to Bremen, where grandmother lived. We had some Arby's for supper and I noticed that "8 lb. bag" was printed on the bottom of the sack our food came in. Ben got the ingenious idea to put Hatcher in the bag and see if it really held 8 pounds. We were thoroughly impressed that it held our little ~10 lb. sack of potatoes. Here is a pic... :) haha!

Hatcher has now passed the two month mark and he is learning so much! He is so alert and observant of his surroundings and at the beach he started reaching out and hitting and trying to grab the toys on his playmat! so cool to see him learning! He stares very intently at his fist and then he goes in for the strike at the toy...so neat! Here is a pic of him playing at grandmother's house:
Well, that is about all for now! Ben had a birthday on Tuesday and we had a little party in Bremen with his family and then a little party at our house with family and friends. I'll try to post some cute pictures later of my dad with the Hatch. (when I get them off of my camera.) Thanks for stopping by!
